St. Jude’s Cathedral endeavours to be a channel of God’s living water to the city of Iqaluit and beyond. The word ‘Iqaluit’ in the Inuktitut language literally means ‘the place of many fish’. As the prophet Ezekiel envisioned, the river flowing from the temple will bring fresh life to our parched earth and abound with many fish (Ezekiel 47:8-10). At our Lord’s command, we let down our nets to catch fish of every kind through our ministries of Word and Sacrament, and our healing outreach initiatives like “Celebrate Recovery.” (John 21:6).
We are the Cathedral Church of the Anglican Diocese of the Arctic. Our diocesan mission statement is as follows:
